This program will provide tuition help to families in need who qualify for assistance.
A skilled consultant, with a degree behavioral psychology, teaches this program. LCA students will learn how to decode social cues and interact appropriately with all types of people at school and in the community.
This program enables LCA to provide additional one-to-one instruction in reading, math and other subjects by skilled special education teachers and therapists. This service is most often provided for students with severe dyslexia who are able to learn to read with intensive help.
Support for this program allows LCA to learn and implement the techniques for teaching academic skills through all of the art forms and experiential learning. The Academic Club Teaching Methodology was developed by Sally Smith, Ph.D., Founder/Director of the Lab School, Washington, D.C.
This program will enable LCA students to develop better self-esteem and social skills through purposeful interactions with adults who have with similar disabilities, and same age Òtypically developingÓ peers from local middle and high schools.
Funding for this program allows LCA students to take field trips into the community to learn in all types of settings, and to practice using the skills they have acquired at school with support from LCA teachers.
This program will provide LCA with a music room, musical instruments and instruction. Some LCA students will learn how to play a musical instrument. All students benefit by developing better skills in areas such as fine motor, listening, attention and focusing.
