Hasani

Dear Friend,

picture of HasaniMy son, Hasani, has attended the Learning Circle Academy since October of 2004, He entered as a 15 year old student who had been diagnosed as cognitively impaired by both public school psychological testing and privately paid for psychological testing. I was told by the psychologist that Hasani should apply for social security or prepare himself for a job with a vet cleaning out dog cages. Hasani is 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 138 pounds. He is a very polite and cooperative youngster. His main interests are drawing, his dog Ginger, and his horse Junior.

Hasani’s teacher at Learning Circle Academy reviewed his psychological tests and informed me that they were inaccurate because Hasani had not shown any academic growth between testings. Furthermore, after her informal evaluation of Hasani, she told me that he suffered from dyslexia.

Hasani has achieved more in four months at Learning Circle Academy than he did in eight years of public school and two years of private school. His reading level has improved by over one grade level and his understanding of math has improved. His posture has improved immensely because he now attends a school that bolsters his self-esteem and his identity.
